OpenAI Setup
Configure OpenAI as your AI provider for invoice extraction.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- OpenAI account
- API credits (paid account)
- TaprNext admin access
Step 1: Create OpenAI Account
Section titled “Step 1: Create OpenAI Account”- Go to platform.openai.com
- Sign up or log in
- Navigate to Billing and add payment method
- Add credits to your account
Step 2: Generate API Key
Section titled “Step 2: Generate API Key”- Go to API Keys in the sidebar
- Click Create new secret key
- Name it “TaprNext”
- Copy the key immediately
⚠️ Important: “Copy now - won’t be shown again”
Step 3: Configure TaprNext
Section titled “Step 3: Configure TaprNext”- Go to Tapr Settings
- Select AI Provider tab
- Choose OpenAI
- Enter your API key
- Select model: gpt-4o (recommended)
- Click Save
Step 4: Test Connection
Section titled “Step 4: Test Connection”- Click Test Connection
- Wait for confirmation
- Green checkmark = success

Troubleshooting

Section titled “”Invalid API Key””- Re-copy from OpenAI dashboard
- Check key starts with
sk- - Verify account has credits

Section titled “”Rate Limited””- Wait and retry
- Check usage limits in OpenAI dashboard
- Consider usage tier upgrade
”Model Not Found”
Section titled “”Model Not Found””- Update to current model name
- Check model access permissions
